Rendezvous with the Bear

Hello. So after hopping from platform to platform, I have finally managed to find some peace here with the bear. My scribbling dates all the way back to the days of myspace and orkut. I had quite a following on Blogger and longevity of a platform and how it manages our data was not something that struck my brain until I got a lot older. I enjoyed reading work by others around me but soon Blogger started getting filled with all sorts of garbage and the folks started to abandon it. Rest as they say is history as social media took over and I found some footing on Twitter (when it was actually good). The 140 character limit was a challenger I enjoyed quite a lot.

Although not a daily writer, I found this a good hobby and I felt it kept me alive. Even during personal setbacks, I found solace in writing and I think of it as a gift. Then in 2020, when everyone was pushed back indoors, I started hearing about newer independent platforms supporting writers. I learned this new shiny thing called markdown and that opened up a whole new perspective to me. Learning and enjoying goes hand-in-hand, wow! Over the years, I tried lot of options including mataroa and pagecord. I had dipped my toes in bearblog before but I was hesitant to make the full jump, until now.

Today, I feel I am confident enough to settle down on a whole new open space. Only caveat I feel right now would be the longevity of the platform. I know this is still a one person job and Herman did say about a backup plan in his page. Will see how this goes.

I hope this was not too bad for a first post. Take care :)
